The Trump Administration today suspended the leases of five major offshore wind projects citing national security concerns - including potential radar interference within proximity of the heavily populated East Coast - in yet another blow to Governor Maura Healey’s quest for a NetZero future for Massachusetts by 2050.

In a not so subtle jab at Healey, without actually mentioning the Governor who has boasted of killing two pipelines, Rapid Response 47 wrote “FACT: Just one natural gas pipeline can supply as much energy as these five projects combined”

Healey killed two natural gas pipelines as Massachusetts Attorney General, the equivalent of 10 offshore wind installations, according to the Trump Administration.

Recently Healey claimed she didn’t kill the pipelines. But just last week she told NBC 10 Boston that she did kill the pipelines.

“Secretary Burgum is also right to note the high cost of offshore wind electricity. Unfortunately, Massachusetts State House leaders removed the ‘price cap’ for offshore wind projects that once helped deter ratepayers from getting a bad deal and further passed into law offshore wind mandates as part of the implementation of the NetZero by 2050 roadmap that completely removed any cost concerns for ratepayers all together,” stated Paul D. Craney, Executive Director of Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance.
