A mural of murdered Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, funded in part by Elon Musk, has triggered Providence Mayor Brett Smiley who now wants a mural removed from the side of a gay bar in the Providence Arts District. Zaruska was murdered in August 2025 at the hands of suspected assailant, Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr. while riding a train in Charlotte North Carolina.
